STEVE KUHNE APPOINTED AS 1ST TEAM MANAGER

After an exhaustive search Olney Town FC are absolutely delighted to name Steve Kuhne as 1st Team Manager!

Having built a very robust platform and assembling a fine squad at Olney Town, Ed Wheatley and the Committee see the appointment of Steve Kuhne as further testament of the desire to build a great football club both on and off the field.

Steve Kuhne is simply a football man-having started his career as a schoolboy at Tottenham Hotspur he went on to play at St Neots and Arlesey Town before moving to London playing over 10 years in the Conference and Isthmian Leagues.

After moving back to Bedfordshire Steve played for Bedford Town before moving to Arlesey Town and helping them win the South Midlands Premier League. After another move to Stamford Steve won the UCL Premier League before once again playing for St Neots and Potton Utd.

Steve has scored over 650 semi professional goals with over 350 in the UCL.

Steve's managerial career then continued at St Neots guiding them to 4th place in the UCL Premier Division before managing the development squad-St Neot's Saints and Youth.

Paul Tough (Chairman at Olney Town) says-

"We have worked really hard to bring Steve into the club and we hope that this is a major statement in terms of further development at the Club both on and off the field. From the moment we met we realised that our football philosophy was the same and we looking forward to working together!"

Dave King (Managing Director at Hygienic Wall Cladding Ltd)-1st Team & Reserve Team Sponsor added-

"Following the off field developments at Olney Town Hygienic Wall Cladding Ltd are delighted to be associated with a football club and group of people that shows such ambition and passion for what they do-we look forward to continuing our relationship!"

Sam O'Neill (1st Team Player)-

"We have thoroughly enjoyed our time working under Ed Wheatley but it is fair to say that the whole squad are really excited to be working with Steve who has played at the highest levels"

It is with much regret that last night Olney Town has announced that Ed Wheatley (1st Team Manager) will be leaving the Club shortly. Ed has recently been promoted at work and he has tried very hard to balance the demands of both work and managing at Olney-but unfortunately there just aren't enough hours in the day!

However, given Ed's very professional attitude and desire to ensure that the Club is left in good hands, he will be staying on until Olney Town FC has appointed the right person for the job-indeed he already has Bugbrooke and Wellingborough in his sights over the next week!

Further announcements will be made in due course but Olney Town would like to place on record their thanks to Ed and his coaching team who have guided the FC through an exciting time both on and off the field.
